- Dr. Minas George Liristis opened The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy of Largo in March 2005 to the public after nearly eleven years of service to Walgreens. At Walgreens, Dr. Liristis developed an array of programs involving Pharmacist and Pharmacy Intern training, inventory management and disciplined workflow etiquette which in turn resulted in excellent customer service. He also served as a staff pharmacist and manager to over 30 stores while at Walgreens. Before joining Walgreens, he was an infectious disease research intern at Yale/New Haven Hospital during which he oversaw a ward with one hundred and fifty HIV/AIDS adult and neonatal patients. Dr. Liristis’ earned his Bachelor of Pharmacy from the University of Connecticut with Sum Cum Laude Honors and his Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Florida. He is also certified in many different fields: Immunizations, Compounding, Assisted and Nursing Home Living and Pharmacotherapy. Dr. Liristis is a member of the Rho Chi Pharmacy Honor society, The National Community Pharmacist Association, The American Pharmacist Association, The Florida Pharmacist Association and The American Society of Consultant Pharmacist. His professional career outside of pharmacy includes chanting at The Holy Greek Orthodox Church in Clearwater. He is active in a variety of civic and cultural organizations including the Karpathian Society and the “Ioannis Koukouzelis” Byzantine Chanters society. An important aspect of his life is family – his wife Sophia, daughter Stamatina, son Georgio and dog Lilly.
